I recently had someone contact me about applying for a job with my company. The catch was he emailed me about an error message on one of my sites. He sent me a little information about the error, complimented me on my work, and then said that if I emailed him he would respond with a screen shot of the error message and his resume. I wanted to see the error message so I took him up on it. It ended up only being a minor error, but when I have an opening he will be the first person I contact.
I thought it was a great original job application idea, and a great way to get bumped to the top of the resume pile. Man, this economy is tough.
